WeldArt World Championship associated with IIW – Creativity Meets the Power of Welding
Welcome to the new stage of welding – where technology meets art and boundaries are redefined.
The first WeldArt World Championship associated with IIW is the start of a global event that is more than just a competition: it is a movement. Welding is being reimagined – as an expression of creativity, passion and innovation. The aim is to bring the magic of metal and fire to life on a global stage, inspire young talent and actively shape the future of welding.
Together with the Urban Steel Rockstars community and initiated by the International Institute of Welding (IIW), the grand final of the championship will reach its climax live at the Urban Steel Expo 2027 in Düsseldorf – loud, creative and electrifying.
What is WeldArt?
Precision meets vision. Welding technology becomes an art form.
WeldArt brings a new dimension into play: here, functional constructions are not created, but genuine works of art. Metal, fire and pure inspiration give rise to sculptures, objects and designs that surprise and move.
Technical expertise merges with artistic freedom – making WeldArt a platform for anyone who wants to use a welding machine to create more than just connections.
WeldArt stands for a change of perspective: out of the factory and into the spotlight of the design world. Here, the supposedly industrial becomes a creative statement – raw, authentic and emotional.
Who is the WeldArt World Championship for?
For anyone who feels, designs and rethinks technology.
The WeldArt community is as diverse as the discipline itself. It connects people who don't want to choose between technology and creativity – but live both:
Skilled workers & professionals in welding and metalworking professions
Young talent & trainees looking for inspiration
Companies & thought leaders who want to promote innovation
Vocational schools & educational institutions that showcase modern career paths
Influencers & creators who combine technology and creativity
Media & event partners who open up new interfaces between industry and culture
